Sensei Tibon teaches Goju-Ryu, a blended fighting system that combines the power and directness of Okinawan/Japanese straight-line techniques with the fluid, circular movements of Chinese Kempo. “Goju” — literally “hard-soft” — reflects this balance: hard, linear strikes and conditioning paired with softer, angular defensive and redirecting techniques.
Our curriculum integrates jamming, joint isolation, and parry-to-counter combinations into a cohesive fighting form, and draws practical techniques from complementary self-defense arts so students are prepared for real-world encounters. Training emphasizes practical application, timing, and adaptability rather than flashy moves.
We are committed to cultivating confidence, respect, and discipline in every student. Our goal is to help each person reach their full potential while preserving the traditional methods and values passed down from Okinawa and Japan.
